Ask a CFP® - Foundational Questions Edition Series: Why We’re Doing This

Lately, I’ve heard some version of the following sentence from all kinds of people, “I feel like I should know this, it seems so basic, but I’ve never understood {insert topic here}.

Sound familiar?

You’re not alone and that’s exactly why we’re launching a new series: Ask a CFP® – Foundational Questions Edition. It’s here to break down the fundamentals of personal finance—judgment-free.

If you’re a meteorologist, you understand mesocyclones. If you’re a doctor, you know the difference between hypertension and hypotension. If you’re a mechanic, you know what a carburetor does (I certainly don’t – and apparently, they’re not even on new cars anymore).

The point is: we all have different areas of expertise. But financial literacy is one of the few that impacts nearly everyone, so let’s make it more accessible.

We’ve already collected some great questions that we’ll be answering in upcoming posts. Starting next week, we’ll kick off with a series focused on one of the most essential topics in investing: the types of accounts available to investors.

Looking Ahead: From Foundations to Strategy
Our plan with this blog series is to build from the ground up. It’s a mission of ours to help make personal finance education and clarity accessible to all so we’re starting with foundational topics. As we grow this blog, we’ll continue answering foundational questions, but we’ll also take on deeper planning strategies designed to help you optimize what you’ve built including topics like:

·       Roth Conversion guides

·       Social Security collection strategies

·       Retirement income planning

Whether you're here to start learning or fine-tune what you already know, we’re glad you’re here. Have a question you’ve always wanted to ask? Email us at ask@sandersretirement.com, and we’ll try to include it in a future post.

Let’s dive in and start building your financial confidence.
